On the road to recovery, the individual finds themselves confused, as if experiencing some unspoken vertigo from having their world turned upside down. Between old habits of putting on a mask and the new addition of trying medicine to help, a certain kind of Inner Turmoil is experienced. It is here that they learn their behaviors are part of a vicious cycle, that, despite it being revealed to them, they may still have trouble fighting against.

Feelings of Emptiness portrays the individual as they slip further into their own hole of helplessness. They feel worthless or empty as if there is no point in living. On top of this, their thoughts are heavy and dark, looking over their shoulder at every action they choose to take, if any at all, silently chastising them. These feelings can paralyze the individual from even so much as leaving their rooms for days on end, their only relief being small comforts that are familiar to them.

Racing Thoughts is meant to show how the mind races and is unable to be controlled. A lot of what passes through the individual’s mind makes no sense and only helps tarnish their mood. Though their brain is constantly racing, the individual speaks nothing of what they are thinking, for fear of being a burden to someone else or being considered weak. And so they remain going through the day silently suffering through a false smile so that others will not worry.

Social Anxiety shows the toll that is taken when the individual is made to interact with others. It can cause a lot of stress; the person’s mind races and is unable to see past everyone being an enemy or passing judgement upon them. Every possible scenario and judgement that could possibly happen in the scenario is reflected in the person’s thoughts as they press on through the day just hoping to survive it intact.

Lack of Sleep shows how the individual can become virtually a zombie, lacking the energy to do anything. At this point even merely interacting with another person can take a toll on them. Where the individual was once energetic and able to function, they find themselves slipping further into a haze where days begin to blur together due to a faulty sleep schedule. Even the smallest activities can be exhausting.

The first piece is called Lack of Interest, meant to show how one can suddenly no longer find pleasure in things they used to. Instead, they find themselves frustrated and feeling a bit lost, as if the activity in question is suddenly foreign though it is supposed to be familiar. Their minds are so preoccupied that they cannot enjoy their own hobbies.
